Nos confrères anglophones de AndroidCentral ont pu tester et prendre en main le nouveau Motorola Atrix 2.
Un Droid 2 aux coutés de l’Atrix 2
Selon eux, l’Atrix 2 possède une très bonne qualité de conception : il est léger, il est solide, et il se sent bien en main. Malgré son écran de 4,3 pouces, le smartphone en paraît pas surdimensionné ou hors de proportion. Quant à l’affichage, c’est une résolution QHD et « il est fantastique ». L’écran est net et lumineux.
L’Atrix 2 intègre un capteur de 1,3 mégapixel sur la face avant, et à l’arrière un capteur 8 mégapixels capable de capturer de la vidéo en 1080p.
A l’intérieur, l’Atrix 2 contient un processeur OMAP dual-core cadencé à 1 GHz avec 1 Go de RAM et 8 Go de mémoire embarquée. Pas de lag, pas de ralentissement.
L’Atrix 2 tourne sous Gingerbread et est vendu… vous l’aurez deviné, avec Motoblur. Bref, cet Atrix 2 semble très prometteur, c’est sûrement le téléphone qui sera dévoilé par Motorola le 18 octobre en France.
The HTC Sensation XL was announced last Thursday for the European market. Unfortunately, it’s not coming to the US. But it is definitely an amazing piece of work from HTC. Taylor and I had the chance to play around with the device for a while, and we even got a brief preview from an HTC representative.
The device looks great on paper. It has some strong specs and pleasing aesthetics. But the Sensation XL looks even better in real life. Its 4.7-inch form-factor is actually not as overwhelming as you’d imagine. The build quality is very solid. This is typical of HTC devices, which tend to feel a bit heavier. However, this is not the case with the HTC Sensation XL; the handset is surprisingly lightweight.
We had the chance to play with a few other devices, and the Sensation XL was definitely one of the lightest. Weighing 146 grams, this device is almost as light as the HTC Rhyme (a 3.7-inch device) and is much lighter than devices like the HTC Thunderbolt and the HTC Amaze 4G (available today).
The best part of this device is the screen. It’s honestly the best display I’ve seen in any device. The colors are very bright, vibrant and saturated, and the viewing angles are simply impressive. We took some comparison images next to the Samsung Galaxy S II (King of displays) and the HTC Thunderbolt; the Sensation XL simply blows them out of the water.
One of the biggest concerns was the lack of a dual-core processor. But, with the processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, this device is much smoother than many dual-core devices on the market.
Beats technology is also included, and the device comes with the UrBeats headset. Music enthusiasts will be excited for this addition. The sound is very well optimized, but we’re not sure this would be a huge decision factor yet, at least not for most users.
Overall, the device is a huge step beyond other HTC devices and should be taken into account when purchasing your next smartphone. According to the HTC representative, this device won’t be making it to the US, but it might be worth importing. Motorola a dévoilé officiellement leMotorola Atrix 2 son prochain terminal sous Android. Comme son prédécesseur le Motorola Atrix, ce nouveau Android phone du constructeur américain pourra grâce à un accessoire ce transformer en netbook.
Par contre, la connectique entre le téléphone et le netbook ne se fera plus par un dock sur lequel on pose le téléphone, mais passerait par un câble. Avec l’Atrix 2 Motorola s’essaye à la technique Apple (il faut tout racheter).
Le Motorola Atrix 2 sera disponible dès le 16 octobre chez l’opérateur américain AT&T à un prix de 99 dollars soit 72 euros avec abonnement.
Et voilà, l’opérateur téléphonique AT&T vient d’annoncer la sortie prochaine du Motorola Atrix 2 (aka Edison) sur le marché mobile américain. L’Atrix 2 sera disponible en abonnement dès $99 à partir du 16 octobre 2011. Première fausse joie sur l’architecture embarquée, puisqu’elle ne sera finalement pas cadencée à 1.2 ou 1.5 GHz mais seulement à 1 GHz. Le constructeur n’est pas connu, cependant, on peut penser qu’il s’agisse de l’OMAP4430 : une architecture double-coeur cadencée à 1 ou 1.2 GHz.
Avec ça, l’écran affichera bien une diagonale de 4.3 pouces en résolution de 540 par 960 pixels (qHD). En mémoire, il propose 1 Go de mémoire RAM et 8 Go de mémoire interne, ainsi qu’un emplacement pour les cartes microSD compatible jusqu’à 32 Go. Une carte microSD de 2 Go est incluse avec le smartphone. Une caméra frontale et un appareil de 8 mégapixels et un flash de type LED, avec un viseur qui a une vitesse de démarrage et d’obturation identique à un appareil photo numérique et la capacité d’enregistrer de la vidéo en 1080p à 30 images par seconde.
Ce mobile est compatible avec les réseaux mobiles européens (UMTS 850/1900/2100 – GSM 850/900/1800/1900) et supporte jusqu’à 21 Mbps en réception. Il soutient également les technologies Device Encryption (ODE) et Enhanced Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), ainsi qu’une compatibilité VPN (IPsec). Le tout tournera sous Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

L’application de convertisseur de jeu 2D en 3D est désormais accessible par téléchargement pour les possesseurs de smartphones LG Optimus 3D. Ce convertisseur est disponible, dès à présent, grâce à la mise à jour logiciel du téléphone.

Le convertisseur de jeu 3D est le premier moteur logiciel capable de transformer les jeux 2D en 3D sur un smartphone, avec la possibilité de revenir à tout moment en 2D. En révélant un tout nouveau potentiel de contenu 3D auprès des consommateurs, cette avancée ouvre de nouveaux horizons aux technologies 3D. « Le convertisseur de jeu 3D de LG permet de supprimer le frein principal à l’achat des téléphones 3D, à savoir le manque de contenu 3D actuellement disponible sur le marché », analyse le Dr. Jong-seok Park, PDG de LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. « Nous allons consolider encore davantage notre avancée technologique en 3D, grâce au développement de nouvelles techniques qui permettent aux utilisateurs de profiter d’une expérience visuelle véritablement incroyable avec nos produits 3D. » Après la mise à jour du logiciel, les utilisateurs peuvent jouer à des jeux 2D en mode 3D en activant simplement l’application convertisseur de jeu 3D. Seule contrainte, le jeu 2D doit être basé sur Open GL et fonctionner en mode paysage. Pour obtenir le meilleur affichage, il est possible de régler la profondeur 3D et les paramètres de vision. Pour passer du mode 3D au mode 2D à n’importe quel moment, il suffit d’appuyer sur le bouton 3D Hot Key.
Mise à niveau logiciel LG prévoit une mise à niveau de son logiciel pour enrichir l‘Optimus 3D de nouvelles fonctions, parmi lesquelles :

._ Visualisation en 2D de vidéos 3D en mode mono-écran
._ Dolby Mobile pour une qualité audio irréprochable

Le convertisseur de jeu 3D de LG peut s’installer automatiquement par Wifi en vérifiant les mises à jour logicielles directement sur le menu des paramètres du téléphone. La mise à jour est également disponible en exécutant le logiciel LG Mobile Support Tool après avoir connecté l’appareil à un ordinateur.
Last week LG announced the LG Optimus LTE, which is LG’s first smartphone to come with a HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and now LG has released some more information about their new HD smartphone display which they call the True HD IPS display.
LG’s True HD IPS display measures 4.5 inches and it feature a 329 ppi ‘real RGB’ resolution, and according LG, IPS displays perform better than AMOLED displays for color, brightness and battery efficiency.
“Since mobile devices are widely expected to become the main platform for media consumption in the LTE era, high resolution displays on smartphones will be even more necessary”, said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Optimus LTE with True HD IPS display will usher in a new standard by enabling users to enjoy beautiful and detailed high definition content even while on the go.”
We are hoping that LG will soon announce some new smartphones for those of us in Europe and the US featuring their new True HD IPS display, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
We’ve stressed moderation on the rumors that Verizon will get a lasting exclusive on the Nexus Prime and this FCC filing would certainly suggest that there will be plenty of Primes to go around.
The device was cleared on the relevant bands for AT&T and T-Mobile HSPA service, but obviously no definite indication of which carrier this phone might be destined for. If you live in one of the handful of locations that are offering AT&T LTE at the moment I’m sorry to say that there is no sign of LTE in this version of the Nexus Prime.
There’s still the chance that this is just the international version of the Nexus Prime getting its clearance to do some traveling in the states, but I firmly believe that Google wouldn’t restrict the Nexus Prime’s U.S. audience in that way.
In addition to the cell radios we’ve got Bluetooth, dual-band 802.11n WiFi and NFC playing nicely together in the Prime’s slim and sleek shell.
The announcement next week may have been postponed, but this is a solid reminder that the Nexus Prime is coming and Samsung and Google won’t be keeping us all in suspense much longer.

White and blingy, this limited edition smart phone hasn’t compromised with technology either, with latest Android operating system embedded in it.
Showing a 3.5-inch gorilla glass capacitive touch screen on the front, this phone has a total of 1007 diamonds around its stainless steel body. A majority of them is on the front, but a sizable number of them adorn the back cover and sides as well. Since white has been the primary color, the battery cover has a white lizard leather cover with animal patterns, which in total comes to around 2.53 carats of weight. Security and shock-proof construction is also a strength of this rare smart-phone, which ensures that your data along with the device is completely safe. On the technological front, there is a 5 megapixel camera to click pictures when necessary. Though most of the software like adobe flash, Google Maps, Facebook integration are a part of its Android operating system, the opportunity to link it to your computer is also there, apart from the regular functioning like text messaging and alarm. The processor is a 1GHz machine which means, cruising along multiple applications isn’t a problem either, especially while downloading anything from the Android application market. We haven’t yet received a word on the pricing, but it would be safe to assume to be on the higher side, just like its limited edition timepieces.
